New bridge installed! Since 2013, the Run Stanley 5K has raised funds to replace Stanley Park Wildlife Sanctuary trail bridges damaged and washed away in recent storms. We’re happy to report that a removable floating dock bridge has been installed at the site of the former damaged bridge! The River Trail loop is now accessible from the boardwalk area. Some additional work will be done on the bridge in the next week or so, but it is safe to use, so come check it out! As you explore the River Trail loop, you’ll see the marshy site where a second bridge was washed away.
We have made significant progress toward funding that second bridge, which is the goal of Run Stanley 2015. The Run Stanley Team thanks R. Levesque Associates a Westfield landscape architecture, civil engineering, and environmental consulting firm, for donating their services to make these bridges a reality.
